This sculpture continues the artist’s inventive transformation of industrial remnants into anthropomorphic forms, resembling a mask or visage assembled from pipes and hollow metal tubes. Vertical and horizontal cylinders intersect to form the framework of a head, with round and rectangular cutouts suggesting eyes, nose, and mouth. Unlike the previous mask-like work, this composition feels more elongated and totemic, its stacked circular openings echoing vertebrae or ritual ornaments. The symmetry of placement gives it a striking presence, hovering between mechanical construction and primal icon.
The deep brown tone evokes rusted iron, reinforcing its raw materiality and suggesting an object unearthed from ruins or ritual grounds. While the components are unmistakably machine-cut pipes, their arrangement softens into something emotive and symbolic, a reminder that even in the most functional fragments, form and spirit can be found. The work embodies a dialogue between the industrial and the human, where discarded matter takes on new life as cultural memory and visual metaphor.
