He received a Diploma in Drawing and Painting from the Rajasthan School of Art, Jaipur, in 2000 and a Master of Fine Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Rajasthan, in 2003.
Deeply inspired by Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage and architectural marvels, Soni’s work often explores themes of love, tradition, and historical grandeur. He has been the recipient of notable scholarships and grants, including one from the Ministry of Human Resource Development (2004–05), a merit scholarship from the Rajasthan Lalit Kala Akademi, and support from the national Lalit Kala Akademi.
Actively engaged in art camps and workshops, Soni has taken part in events like 'Rang Malhar' in Jaipur, programs hosted by the Lalit Kala Akademi and Jawahar Kala Kendra, as well as an international demonstration workshop in Africa.
